again and again that we must follow the guru. Well, thanks
for telling us again.”
The ISKCON authority raises a question, “…is Prabhupada
always speaking as a transcendental guru, even when
he is not repeating shastra?” My question is when and
where has this ISKCON guru and GBC perceived that
Srila Prabhupada has not repeated shastra in his books?”
Srila Prabhupada states above, “The original potency of
the shastra remains in these books because I have not
added or opinionated anything of my own. I have simply
presented the scriptures such as Bhagavad-gita and Srimad
Bhagavatam as they are. Therefore just see the effect they
have on the world.” (Letters, March 19, 1975)
Can this ISKCON authority point out any statement in all
the books authored by Srila Prabhupada that do not repeat
shastra? I would be very interested to hear him or anyone
else on this subject.
In conclusion, persons within and without ISKCON are
questioning Srila Prabhupada’s words. Such disingenuous
attempts ignore the fact that Srila Prabhupada has simply
repeated the Vedic shastra in his books. Such repetition
requires a very high threshold of integrity and dedication
to Guru, Shastra, and Sadhu. This fact should be meditated
upon seriously by all who dare to question the words of
Srila Prabhupada.
