Srila Prabhupada’s words are perfectly true and based on
the statements of Narada Muni’s narration in context.
Brahma das and others are attempting to make Srila
Prabhupada’s (and Narada Muni’s) explanation seem
insensitive and wrong by extending it beyond it’s defined,
narrow limits. Gross rape is defined as sexual intercourse
carried out forcibly or under threat of injury against the
will of a female or with a person who is beneath a certain
age and incapable of valid consent. An aggressive lover who
seduces a beautiful young woman and pleases her sexually
and continues to please her and protects her and marries
her is the context referred to by Srila Prabnhupada . To
further understand the context of Narada Muni’s narration
and Srila Prabhupada’s comments read the following from
the purport of SB 4.25.62:
“How one becomes captivated by the association of one’s
dear wife is explained in this chapter by Narada Muni.
Attraction for one’s wife means attraction for the material
qualities.” Narada Muni makes an explicit narration of
how a man and woman are entrapped by sexual attraction
to continual birth and death in the material world.
Narada Muni summarizes: “In this way, King Puranjana
was captivated by his nice wife and was thus cheated.
Indeed, he became cheated in his whole existence in the
material world…”
