the most intelligent and trustworthy devotees; therefore,
we meditate and glorify these pure women devotees who
serve Lord Krishna with love and devotion.

A lady visitor to the temple asked me if I could recommend a
reading list for her of Srila Prabhupada’s books. I suggested
that she begin by reading the Teachings of Queen Kunti.
I pointed out that Kunti devi was a profound spiritual
authority on Krishna Consciousness and her writings
were worshipped by the greatest Vaisnava acaryas through
history. She was an example of a woman who had achieved
the highest potential of human perfection by following the
path of Krishna Consciousness.

This lady contacted me after reading the book and asked
me to respond to questions she had. She was puzzled by
some of the statements, especially when Queen Kunti
says that it is difficult for women to know Lord Krishna
perfectly. (SB 1.8.20) I pointed out that Srila Prabhupada
quoted the Upanisads that state the Supreme Truth, the
Absolute Personality of Godhead, Krishna, is beyond the
range of the thinking power of the greatest philosophers.
Srila Prabhupada has said;

“He is unknowable by great learning or by the greatest
brain. This fact is corroborated by Queen Kunti, who is
playing the part of an innocent woman. Women in general
are unable to speculate like philosophers, but they are
