his posi on in the social order, but if by execu ng his duty one does not
come to the point of Kṛṣṇa consciousness, all his ac vi es are in vain.
Anything that does not lead to the perfec onal stage of Kṛṣṇa con-
sciousness should be avoided. One should be confident that in all cir-
cumstances Kṛṣṇa will protect him from all difficul es. There is no need
of thinking how one should keep the body and soul together. Kṛṣṇa will
see to that. One should always think himself helpless and should consid-
er Kṛṣṇa the only basis for his progress in life. As soon as one seriously
engages himself in devo onal service to the Lord in full Kṛṣṇa con-
sciousness, at once he becomes freed from all contamina on of materi-
al nature. There are different processes of religion and purificatory pro-
cesses by cul va on of knowledge, medita on in the mys-
c yoga system, etc., but one who surrenders unto Kṛṣṇa does not have
to execute so many methods. That simple surrender unto Kṛṣṇa will
save him from unnecessarily was ng me. One can thus make all pro-
gress at once and be freed from all sinful reac ons.” (Bg 18.66 – pur-
port)
As stated above, four of these five metaphysical truths are eternal
(God, the living en es, me and material nature), only karma is not
eternal and thus it is subject to change. This is the Lord’s mercy for
those souls who desire to rehabilitate their sinful ways and be trained
to serve and eventually love Lord Krishna. Thus they can return to the
Lord’s eternal abode, Golaka Vrindaban.
