As all surrender unto Me, I reward them accordingly. Everyone follows My path in all respects, O son of Pṛthā.
(Bg 4.11)
Living entities are serving Krishna directly or indirectly because the constitutional position of everyone is to
serve the Lord. When one refuses to serve the Lord, he is still serving under the influence of the Lord’s illusory
energy, maya. For example, an atheist will try to prove that God does not exist. He is talking about God, but in
a negative way. Kamsa was the enemy of Krishna (God), yet he was always thinking of the Lord fearfully. Ravana
was the enemy of the Lord, who was thinking how to kill the Lord. Hiranyakasipu, who tried to kill his son
Prahlada because the boy was a devotee of Lord Krishna, was finally killed by the Lord who is the protector of
His devotees. Both Kamsa, Ravana and Hiranyakasipu saw Krishna as the ultimate agent of death. The atheists
and the evil persons eventually see the Lord as death when they are overpowered by the invinsible material
energy (daivi hy esa guna-mayi / mama maya duratyaya - Bg 7.14). Thus the Lord declares: Everyone follows My
path in all respects (Bg 4.11) because He is in the heart of every living entity as the overseer, permitter and the
the source of knowledge and forgetfulness - Bg 13.23 and 15.15). Either one follows the Lord’s instructions or
does not follow, still he is controlled by the Lord’s energies. The devotees are protected by the Lord’s yogamaya
potency and the miscreants are defeated by the Lord’s mahamaya potency. Yogamaya brings one closer to
Krishna and helps him to always remember the Lord by constant engagement in devotional service. Mahamaya
takes one away from Krishna and causes the non-devotee to forget the Lord and thus become hopelessly
entangled by the laws of karma due to whimsical activities unrelated to the Lord’s devotional service.
Bhaktivedanta Swami writes:
All living entities are serving Kṛṣṇa in different ways, but when they are Kṛṣṇa conscious, their service is fully
manifest. As a flower in the bud gradually fructifies and yields its desired aroma and beauty, so when a living
entity comes to the platform of Kṛṣṇa consciousness, the beauty of his real form comes into full blossom. That is
the ultimate beauty and the ultimate fulfillment of desire. (SB 10.13.51 - purport)
Those who are opposed to the Lord have stunted their spiritual growth and cannot reach the fulfillment of
human destiny, the attainment of peace, happiness, love of God and immortality in the spiritual world. They are
destined to repeat birth and death until they are purified of their envy of God.
Brahma further saw that the myriad Vishnu forms were surrounded by the following opulences, powers and
twenty-four elements for the material creation. The totality of material elements is called the mahat-tattva,
which facilitates the Lord to be universally present and invinsible. The following is a list of some of Lord Krishna’s
qualities, powers and opulences.
1-Opulences: Beauty, riches, knowledge, power, fame and renunciation These are referred to as sad aisvaryas -
six opulences. The Lord can do whatever He desires and that is His aisvarya – inconceivable opulence. No one
can order Him to do something, but He can command everyone to act.
2-Mystic Powers: Anima (become small like a particle or atom), laghima (lighter than a soft feather, almost
weightless), mahima (expanding one’s body to an infinitely large size), garima (become heavier than the heaviest
or infinitely heavy), prapti (to get anything and everything from anywhere and everywhere), isitva (to act freely
even to create something wonderful or to annihilate anything at will), vasitva (to control all material elements,
prakamya (to possess such power as will never be frustrated in any desire), kamavasayita (to assume any shape
or form one may even whimsically desire) – These are called yoga siddhis yoga perfections
