Five metaphysical truths explained by Lord Krishna

There are five fundamental truths explained in depth in the Bhagavad-
gita by Lord Krishna to Arjuna, His disciple. They follow with the pur-
ports of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhak vedanta Swami Prabhupada.

      1‐Who is God?

Who be er to understand God than from Lord Krishna explaining Him-
self in response to Arjuna’s ques ons. The Lord empha cally declares:

ahaṁ sarvasya prabhavo / ma aḥ sarvaṁ pravartate
               i matvā bhajante māṁ / budhā bhāva‐samanvitāḥ

“I am the source of all spiritual and material worlds. Everything ema-
nates from Me. The wise who perfectly know this engage in My devo-
onal service and worship Me with all their hearts.” (Bg 10.8)

yo mām evam asammūḍho / jānā puruṣo amam
                sa sarva-vid bhaja māṁ / sarva-bhāvena bhārata

“Whoever knows Me as the Supreme Personality of Godhead, without
doub ng, is the knower of everything. He therefore engages himself in
full devo onal service to Me, O son of Bharata.” (Bg 15.19)

puruṣaḥ sa paraḥ pārtha / bhaktyā labhyas tv ananyayā
yasyāntaḥ-sthāni bhūtāni / yena sarvam idaṁ tatam (Bg 8.22)

“The Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is greater than all, is
a ainable by unalloyed devo on. Although He is present in His abode,
He is all-pervading, and everything is situated within Him.”
                                  arjuna uvāca
paraṁ brahma paraṁ dhāma / pavitraṁ paramaṁ bhavān
puruṣaṁ śāśvataṁ divyam / ādi-devam ajaṁ vibhum
