Many years before, I was present at Srila Prabhupada’s
Vyasa puja day celebration in the Vrindaban temple 1973.
Bon Maharaja, previously a leader of the Gaudiya Math,
the spiritual organization in which Srila Prabhupada was a
lifetime member, was invited as one of the guest speakers.
He spoke the following words; “I cannot deny that Swami
Bhaktivedanta has spread the Krishna consciousness
movement all over the world.”

Many prominent Vaisnavas have acknowledged that
Srila Prabhupada accomplished the prophecy of Lord
Chaitanya single handedly by spreading the holy names
of Krishna around the world. He also accomplished the
prophecy of Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura who said that
one day a great personality shall bring Western Vaisnavas
to Sridham Mayapura to dance and perform Hari Kirtan
with their Indian counterparts. Srila Prabhupada writes,
“Bhaktivinoda Thakura wanted that European and
American people may understand the philosophy of the
Chaitanya cult and take part in it. That was his desire.
My Guru Maharaj Bhaktisiddanta Sarasvati Goswami
Prabhupada, he also attempted to send his disciples to
preach Chaitanya’s cult in the Western world. He advised
me also in my first meeting, perhaps you know, he asked
me to preach.” (Lecture, London, August 22, 1973)

Srila Prabhupada fulfilled the desire of his beloved
Gurudeva, who had given the same order to preach in
