Flavors of India Festival: The superlative event ‘Flavors of
India’ was celebrated on Aug 31 and Sept between 12 noon and 9
p.m. at the beautiful Bellevue Park. A key part of the event is the
Jagannatha Ratha Yatra when their Lordships Jagannath, Baladeva
and Subadra devi come out of the temple to give darshan to the
masses. The Jagannatha Rathayatra is one of the major festivals
and attended by millions of pilgrims at Sri Ksetra, Puri Dham. For
fifteen days, Lord Jagananth remains in seclusion to ride upon His
Ratha, and thus performs pastimes for the pleasure of His devo-
tees. On Saturday 31st August 2013, Namrock- Mantra Rock Band
performed followed by Jin Won and Taalim Percussion. On Sunday
1st September 2013 there was a complete roster of Vedic Cultural
Center Children dances, Sharmista Mitra Doray dance, Urvashi
Dance Company, Odissi Dance performance, Jagannath Rath Yatra,
drawing people from all over Northwest, and finally the amazing
“Namrock”- Mantra Rock Band led by Titisava Karunika prabhu.
