The Lord realized that He should perform tapasya to
find Lakshmi.

The Lord Meditates on Lakshmi devi

Srinivasa dug a pond (kund) on the Tirumala
Mountain with His own hands. When He finished
it, He asked Varuna deva (the demigod of the ocean
and rivers) to fill the pond with ambrosial waters of
sacred rivers. When this was done, He installed a
magnificent golden lotus. He sat on the whorl of the
flower and mediated on Lakshmi.

By the power of His meditation and the love He felt
in separation from her, he created a heat that filled
the entire universe. Ultimately, the warmth of His
love reached the heart of Lakshmi. She consulted
Kapila muni about this mysterious heat. Kapila muni
explained, “Your beloved Lord is feeling separation
from you. He is performing tapasya to bring you
back. You should go back to Him. I believe it is your
heartfelt desire. Why are you taking so seriously the
offence of Bhrigu muni? He action was the Lord’s
plan. Even if Bhrigu muni committed an offence by
jumping on His chest, you should examine the result.
