of human beings are set up. They set fire to prepare their foodstuff, they set fire to start the factories, etc. So
many things are done with the help of fire. Therefore, sunrise, fire and moonlight are so pleasing to the living
entities. Without their help no living entity can live. So if one can understand that the light and splendor of the
sun, moon and fire are emanating from the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Kṛṣṇa, then one’s Kṛṣṇa
consciousness will begin. By the moonshine, all the vegetables are nourished. The moonshine is so pleasing that
people can easily understand that they are living by the mercy of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Kṛṣṇa.
Without His mercy there cannot be sun, without His mercy there cannot be moon, and without His mercy there
cannot be fire, and without the help of sun, moon and fire, no one can live. These are some thoughts to provoke
Kṛṣṇa consciousness in the conditioned soul. (Bg 13.12)
When one hears the Bhagavad-gita from a genuine devotee, all doubts about the existence of God (Krishna) are
dissipated. The devotee begins to understand that Krishna is present in everything and everywhere and at the
same time everything is situated within Krishna. He is within and without. He is within everything by His infinite
expansions of Himself as the Paramatma, the supersoul present in every atom of the universe and in the heart
of every living entity including the tiniest microbe. At the same time everything is contained within His expansion
at the universal form (virat rupa). This is inconceivable for conditioned souls like ourselves, but it is a fact
collaborated by Arjuna when Krishna showed him His universal form in which past, present and future appeared
simultaneously along with everything, all persons, and events in the universe. Arjuna was overwhelmed by this
incredible display. Anyone who dares to claim they are God must also be able to display the universal form as
Krishna did 5000 years at the request of Arjuna. If they cannot, they are a despicable fraud.
Brahma validates that Krishna is present in every atom of the universe:
eko 'py asau racayituṁ jagad-aṇḍa-koṭiṁ
yac-chaktir asti jagad-aṇḍa-cayā yad-antaḥ
aṇḍāntara-stha-paramāṇu-cayāntara-stham-
govindam ādi-puruṣaṁ tam ahaṁ bhajāmi
He is an undifferentiated entity as there is no distinction between potency and the possessor thereof. In His work
of creation of millions of worlds, His potency remains inseparable. All the universes exist in Him and He is present
in His fullness in every one of the atoms that are scattered throughout the universe, at one and the same time.
Such is the primeval Lord whom I adore.
Sanjaya, the disciple of Vyasadeva, who describes what transpired between Arjuna and Krishna, explains the
incredible revelation of Krishna’s universal form:
aneka-vaktra-nayanam / anekādbhuta-darśanam
aneka-divyābharaṇaṁ / divyānekodyatāyudham
divya-mālyāmbara-dharaṁ/divya-gandhānulepanam
sarvāścarya-mayaṁ devam / anantaṁ viśvato-mukham
Arjuna saw in that universal form unlimited mouths, unlimited eyes, unlimited wonderful visions. The form was
decorated with many celestial ornaments and bore many divine upraised weapons. He wore celestial garlands
and garments, and many divine scents were smeared over His body. All was wondrous, brilliant, unlimited, all-
expanding. (Bg 11.10-11)
