Vedic Cultural Center Opens every day from 5:30am to 9:30pm

First anniversary celebrations
The Vedic Cultural Center will be celebrating the first anniversary of moving into its new facility on Sammamish plateau. It has been a glorious year of art and culture. There are programs every weekend of family interest and fun. On July 4th cultural programs of local artists will take place starting at 3:00 p.m. and continuing until 10:00 p.m. when the impressive Fourth of July fireworks display will take place. There will be a continual food fair from 3 p.m. for refreshment of all visitors. Do not miss this family fun day. July 5th will mark exactly the one year anniversary of moving into the new building. From 12:00 noon onwards there will be continual chanting (kirtan) or devotional songs. A grand ceremony beginning 6:00 p.m. 9:00 p.m. All day there will be food served for the guests.

Mrs. Swayamprava Misra: Popularly known as Kuni Misra is a famous vocalist from Orissa hailing from a family of prominent musicians. She began her study in Indian classical music at the age of five under famous gurus Gururao Deshpande and Khitish Maitra. She sang on All India Radio, Cuttack at the age of eight, and achieved professional vocalist status with All India Radio at age 12. She has sung playback in various movies and performed numerous concerts in various parts of the world since 1960s, in US she has performed at cities like Boston, Austin, Miami, Houston and Rhode Island.

Vedic Cultural Center of Sammamish is conducting Kumbhamela 2009. Kumbhamela 2009 is the largest Indian event in the state of Washington. This event presents a rich tapestry of Indian culture integrated as presented by many talented local artists, singers, and dancers. Come and enjoy the many concerts, plays, interactive displays, kids games with prizes and gourmet Indian cuisine. A popular item in this year’s festival is the Vrindavan Village Theme Park which displays arts and culture with traditional costumes, architecture, folklore and spirituality.  >>>> more details >>>>
